Sierra Vista Economic Development Foundation (SVEDF) actively promotes and preserves the economic strength of the City through actions focused on business recruitment, expansion and retention, and international business development and alliances.
SVEDF offers services and technical assistance to businesses interested in relocating or expanding in Sierra Vista, including: confidential consultations, site location information and assistance, customized research on specific business questions, representation in Sierra Vista's zoning and building permit approval process, private and public financing and job training assistance, support of local business expansions, and international trade and joint venture partnerships..
History
The Sierra Vista Economic Development Foundation (SVEDF) has been incorporated as a non-profit 501(c)3 corporation since 1985. Its mission and purpose is to increase the economic strength of Sierra Vista and to diversify the region's economy.
The foundation is a marketing and information service that has accomplished several community-wide planning efforts to establish its industry market in the greater Sierra Vista area; and has a solid, dynamic relationship with the City of Sierra Vista, Cochise County, and the State of Arizona through the successful establishment of partnerships. All involved understand the value of a diversified economy and fully support the provision of resources to existing businesses and the recruitment of top-performing industries into the greater Sierra Vista area. The SVEDF is directly responsible for developing thousands of new jobs for the community through their focus on business retention, recruitment, expansion and international business alliance development. The SVEDF Board of Directors is comprised of a diverse group of professionals who have excelled in their industries. Each member brings a dynamic perspective to the operation of the foundation and is dedicated to improving the impact SVEDF has on the local business economy.
